Tuesday's for Techie: Exciting Expansion

This is the very first tech-post on my blog. Don't worry, even though it might sound a bit geeky, it really isn't. Games, consoles and apps can be fun and not-nerdy as well!

For all Sims-lovers, this week will be exciting since the newest expansion pack will be released: Sims 3 Pets. It has been the most wanted expansion pack and to be honest, I can't wait myself either. Luckily, I had the privilege of being invited to the press event with the producers. I even played the game for two hours already. I could've written a review, but since so many fan sites already have done that, I decided to go with a top five of things I really like about this new Sims 3 game.

Hiiii-Horses
Apart from the pets that we already know from Sims 1 and 2, we now get horses. The best part? Your sims need to learn how to ride them. If your unlucky, they climb on the horse the wrong way around. The good thing is that this is highly entertaining. You can nurture your horse(s) and even build a track. Get in the saddle and have fun!

Pssst. Have you ever seen a pink 'gay' horse or a blue mare? My friend and I created Coco Chanel and Anna Wintour, who later became Karl Lagerfeld (but that didn't fit) and was finally renamed Tom Ford.

Fuzzy friends on your furniture
Boy, do I like cats and dogs. I loved them in Sims 1, loved them in Sims 2 and I love them even more in Sims 3. In the beginning, cats were not extremely realistic, but now they can even climb on your furniture, hide under the couch and do many more things like that. Hint: try to give them a bath and see what happens.

No longer unleashed
What did you miss for dogs in Sims 1 and 2? Yes, leaches! They're here now so you can take your dog for a walk without him walking away. Isn't that fun?

Horn and mane
If you are good at finding things, you might stumble upon a monster. Every Sims pack features a monster. Yet… do we really want to call this creature a monster? It has a horn on its forehead, has four legs and mane. Of course it's a unicorn! Not just a unicorn, but a very special one. Did that meanie just dump your sim? Then get your unicorn over there and let this creature burn down the house. Fun is guaranteed, as well as a fairytale feeling. You'll find out why. If you can find the unicorn, of course.

In the video
You remember the producer event I was talking about, right? Perhaps you are curious to see what it looks like. Now here it is! I was interviewed as well (twice). Can you find me?

By the way, it's Dutch, yet the interview with producers Jimmy and Angelica is in English. Enjoy!

Sims 3 Pets will be released upcoming Thursday 20 October.

Welcome

As Carlos Ruiz Záfon once said: "It's up to you how you waste your time and money." Well, I love to spend my time writing. Lots of it. That's how my blog was born and it features all of the things that I love: books, films, tv-series, nerd-like things, foodies and random things that just make me really happy. Every post will consist of a top five of... basically anything that comes up. Just sit back, grab a cup of tea (or hot cocoa) and relax as you read on. Enjoy!
